Start with the product dimensions, count and arrangement, then allow space for filling and any top fold. Tell us how the bag will be held and handed over. The base, opening and height should fit both the contents and the packing method.
An open top gives a simple opening, while a tin-tie format allows the top to be folded over and secured. Share your packing and closing method so the opening width and fold space can be planned and checked on the sample.
Options include PE coating, metallized film and aluminium-foil laminate. Metallized film and foil laminate are different material structures. Describe the contents and the barrier performance you need so the exact layers and suitability can be reviewed for the project.
Direct food contact must be confirmed for the exact materials and intended use. Do not assume that kraft paper or an inner lining establishes suitability. State the food type, contact conditions and required documentation before the specification is selected.
Custom printing and window details can be discussed around the selected bag structure. Plan the artwork with the folds, window and closing area before finalising the dieline. Any window material and its effect on the construction are confirmed with the sample.
